Drillfield Panoramic

I took this while the weather was nicer a few days ago. It was a little longer but the sun really tore up the last two sections, so I removed them to improve the overall image.

Blogger/Flickr won't let me upload a full res copy for you guys, so if you want a copy, just drop me an email or leave a message and I'll send it your way. Full res is 18526 x 2144.

Ghosts on the Drillfield

Temporary fix for enlarged images until I can relink them:
Image #2
Image #3
This week had some terrible weather, snowing and raining and generally not wanting to be nice for outdoor photos. Hopefully I won't get behind on my photos again!

So to explain these three images: Image #1 is a quick snapshot of the drillfield on campus as students were crossing between classes. You'll notice slight blurring, that's because of the long exposure required at the aperture I was testing (f/22 in this case). Image #2 is after I placed +7 stops of Neutral Density filters on the lens, effective requiring a full 20 seconds to properly expose the image, instead of 1/6 of a second in Image #1. This length of time resulted in almost nobody appearing in the photo, although it suffered from a loss of sharpness. Image #3 is just something I did for fun, which was to photoshop all the people that were 'ghosts' in Image #1 back onto Image #2.

This is a concept I'm going to play around with, so expect more long exposure results in the future. If you've got an idea for a long exposure I should do, let me know!

Also, another photo will be up tomorrow to make up for missing tuesday!

Lego Wannabe

Justin brought all his legos from home and found a MegaBlox thing in it and threw it away.
Actual conversation is actual.

A Dangerous Path

I walked over to the Duck Pond the other day to find it almost completely frozen over. I spotted this trail of footprints from the shoreline to the island and back, less than a few days old. I don't know who managed to walk there and back without falling in, but they sure have some guts.

Ideas, or lack thereof

I've been hanging out with Justin for a couple days now.
I swear I've come up with like 10 comic ideas during that time but I couldn't think of any of them to draw today >:U

Louisiana Sunset #2

Today's post is another shot of the sunset in Destrehan, which I managed to include the moon in. Hopefully I'll get some pictures of blacksburg soon. The dull weather has kept me from going out to photograph, so i'm slacking on getting new shots for next week.

SO RONERY

I'm not even sure how I came up with this.
Minecraft is fantastical and fun. Creativity helps but sadly, I have none.
Also, I hate creepers. But maybe they're just ronery?

Louisiana Sunset

Sunset in my hometown, shot from the roof. I looked up, saw this fantastic sky, and had less than 5 minutes to get the shot. I ran to the roof, took about 40 exposures of various settings, and then went downstairs. By the time I made it back outside, the amazing colors I captured were gone.

I thought this was a good photo to kick off my first regular photo posting. Feel free to by my critics, I can't learn if I don't know I made mistakes. (:

Final Fantasy

Thanksgiving break: I was watching my brother play Final Fantasy VIII when my mom came into the room and asked if he was playing Mario.
Winter break: I was watching my brother play the same game when my mom came into the room and asked if he was playing "Big Little Planet".
She then started asking us why we didn't play old games anymore.

Shoopin'

Kristen had a photography project and I just needed cheap shoes to complete a "school girl" look.
We stopped at the mall first and the entire purpose of the trip was just to get my shoes.
I ended up getting a dress and about four shirts. Eventually we traveled to walmart where I got my shoes for $5, along with some other stuff, of course. Thankfully, Kristen spent more than I did.
You can watch the awesome monstrosity here:

Ninja Mask

This happened sometime in late November or something like that and I am still SO. EXCITED.
Maybe I'll draw on a fake mustache and stuff and be Gordito :D
Check out the genius of Dr. McNinja at http://drmcninja.com/ !

17th Street Canal

This is a quick panoramic of the 17th Street Canal in New Orleans. (shown here). Shot from the 12th floor of an office building, which resulted in reflections from the glass. Combined with the gross weather that day, it's not a very beautiful picture, but it's an iconic location. For those of you that are not familiar, after Hurricane Katrina, everything to the right of this canal was flooded to the rooftops. The repaired levee wall is in the distance, it's the section that changes color along the right wall. More information about the canal and breach can be found on Wikipedia, here.

The Squishies Comic!

Thanks to The Squishies for the guest comic! :D
I also did a guest comic for them too recently :B [/shameless self promotion]
Check them out at http://thesquishies.com/index.html ; it's pretty fantastical :]

Pingu is Evolving!

One of my older comics but also one of my favorites.
I was talking to my ex about how my pokemon kept evolving and getting uglier and uglier. He reminded me that I could stop them from evolving and I told him "but he wanted to ;_;"

Scale

AND IT WAS.
This happened about a week ago. I think my parents have had that old scale since before I was born or something. We just got a new scale today and I am 7 pounds lighter. Uh, YEAH.

Very Far

Quite possibly the stupidest thing I've heard in a while but I could NOT.
STOP.
LAUGHING.

HIGH FIVE!

Rock Band is FANTASTICAL and we're actually not too bad at it :B
Being vertically challenged sucks though :[
I also can't draw straight lines.

Feeeeeeeed meeeeee

Finals week. I don't know who decided that it would be a good idea to have a final at 7 pm. I had had a late lunch that day and was too busy studying to eat dinner beforehand. I was also promised dericious jambalaya afterwards at Justin's :B About half an hour or so into the test I started to get hungry and was worried my stomach would yell at me for not eating. And so my mind wandered for a bit xP

AWWWW YEAH

Justin and I play tons of Tetris Battle on Facebook. He's also pretty competitive and...vocal.

Knitting

Justin and I went to visit Carol while she was working at a knitting store.
She decided to teach us how to knit. It's okay, the store didn't burn down.

Man VS Food

My family has a TV but we only use it for games and watching movies.
Since we live out in the middle of nowhere apparently, we can't get any channels since everything went digital (we could only receive four channels before then). Thus, I have no idea what's been happening in the TV world. I'm sure I've heard of this show before but I never watched it. I also kinda like how my mind wanders.

Litchi!

I have introduced Justin to the magical world of weird Asian foods.
Litchi gummies are DERICIOUS!

Bejeweled

Justin got Bejeweled 3 and was instantly much better at it than I was.
I also understand that I spelled "bejeweling" wrong but I'm too lazy to change this.
