Bad Person

This has happened on more than one occasion.
Either he's just a bad person or I'm a bad person for thinking those things are funny.

Slusher Tower

I snapped this photo at Relay for Life at about 11:30pm, while it was raining. They had cut off all the lights on the drillfield and it was almost impossible to see, so I photographed the only thing I could see! Photo settings are f/1.4, 1/60 shutter, ISO 3200.

I'm going to start working on a larger photography project, which hopefully will develop over the summer. I'm looking for people who are going to be here this summer to model for it, I've already got at least 1 person, but I'd like to have a larger cast if possible. Story telling ftw! I'm going to try and write the script soon, that way I can explain it to my models better, plus it helps me work on it.

Anyway, as always, if you want to see a shot on here, let me know and I'll try to take it. If you want to learn your own camera, I can always help with that too. ^_^

Mirror-warp demo

I haven't finished editing my photo for Thursday, it's definitely going to take some more time, so instead I'm posting a smaller version of it as-is. Think of it as a teaser while I learn how to tweak and edit this to my liking.

The overall goal is to make it appear as though her hand is going into the mirror in her hand (difficult to see) and coming out of the mirror on the stone by her.

Portal 2

Portal 2 came out Monday night.
Justin didn't have homework and I had a paper to write.
Sad times.

The outsider

This photo was a side shot we took during the photoshoot on Sunday. Emily wanted to play with a cloak, so we ran off and took a few shots like this. Since I didn't have anything planned for this shot, I didn't do much editing to a theme, made it black and white to hide the random weeds scattered about, faster that way. Some fog would make this photo awesome...

This happened at lunch about two hours ago.
I don't know why Justin thinks it's so funny but at least someone does.

Behind the Scenes

I wasn't sure what I should post today, since I try not to recycle photos from shoots to keep things different on here. I'm obnoxiously picky though, and couldn't decide what, if any, of my photos to use. I spotted this one though, and thought some of you might like to see it. If you remember on Tuesday I showed a compare and contrast of my photo vs. Kristen's photo. This photo here is a behind the scenes shot of Kristen taking (possibly) that same photo from Tuesday. She's crouched so that she can get the strong light source high on the right side of the photo, while still giving a good angle for the photo.

We are planning to do another photoshoot this sunday, so keep an eye out on Tuesday for the results of that shoot!

Posing

I participated in the same photoshoot from Justin's picture yesterday.
I'm not very good at it :<
BEING HIPSTER IS HARD.

Interpretations

I had a great opportunity to join Kristen on a photoshoot she wanted to do with some friends, and I learned some interesting lessons for future shoots. Nothing important to share with you all, just small useful things. Since Kristen and I were taking photos of the same subject from different angles, the results of our photos took drastic turns once we got them to our computers. I prefer realistic, clean photos, with strong colors if possible. Kristen's interpretation was more vintage and takes a different appearance all together. I personally love her style, although it doesn't reflect my own views. For your viewing pleasure, I have my photo and her photo below, so you can see the different styles and angles. It's pretty awesome. For some reason the compressions used during upload drain a bit of the warming filter out of my photo, so I will have to look into that. Mine is supposed to have a sunset colored glow to it, similar to what you see on the stone, but stronger. Oh well!

Ankle Roll

Justin and I were walking down a hill to catch a bus when I rolled my ankle.
His roommate Brandyn had sprained his like a week before and it looked awesomely terrible ( I tried to get Justin to take a picture of it but he wouldn't)
After sitting on the bus, ankle is okay again!
Also, whenever one of us hurts ourselves, our standard response is "why would you do that?"

Two for one special!

I wasn't able to get any super great photos to post today, so I'm going to post 2 of my backburner photos instead. These are pictures that came out decent, but I wasn't satisfied with the final result I got and put them to the side. I've taken over 3,800 photos since January, so you can imagine how many I discard, ignore, or leave unused. The two photos I have today are from two photo shoots, one was at Pandapas Pond, and the other was another eye-macro shoot I did.

This picture was taken at Pandapas Pond, and while I like the photo, I don't see it as exciting enough to post on the blog. I did see an immediate use as a website design photo though, so if/when I make my own website instead of using a blog, I will probably incorporate this photo into the design. It's pleasantly simple.

This photo is of my friend's eye from a few weeks back. She's got really pretty eyes, and it was unfortunate that we couldn't get a decent lighting solution at the time. I'm hoping that with my new lens, I will be able to get sharper and clearer photos in these same conditions, and I will have better results for these eyes. I ended up not posting this photo originally because of editing problems I had with it, and you may be able to spot where it was over-edited.

I hope you all enjoy these photos. If you'd like to be a model for me, either for your own personal photos or to help me learn, let me know. I need practice!

DANCING CAKE

Sometimes I just can't figure out what to draw :<
But I did enjoy drawing that cake, despite how terrifying it came out.

Fire Mage

On our way back from Justin's first ever D&D game Justin decided to tell me about his fire mage but left about a 5 second gap after his first statement.
Also,
1.) I promise Justin does not drive a blobby car.
2.) I realize that most of our conversations take place while we are walking so it's kinda boring. Hence the attempt to draw the car.
3.) I could not figure out how to draw a steering wheel and had to google one -_-;

Wolfie

Minecraft had an update yesterday (1.4) and now we have tamable wolves!
Justin went to show off to Cody who then attacked Justin's wolf and then I suppose regretted his decision as the wolf ripped Cody to pieces.
Good times.
